Aujourd'ui je vais vous parler de mes lectures du moment.
Grand fan de BD europeennes et de comics, je possede un bonne collection qui malheureusement ne m'a pas suivi aux US. Je profite donc de mon sejour aux USA pour me concentrer sur les comics. Étant un peu dans une periode star wars (entre le re-visionage des films, la fin de la série clones wars, l'attente de la nouvelle série star wars rebels) nous avons recement complete notre collection de comic star wars.
Je suis déjà différent arc star wars en France, je possède tous les clones wars (10 tomes) et j'ai tous les tomes parus pour les Legacy, Old republic et Invasion. Voici mes derniers achats US:

Today I gonna talk about book and reading.
I'm a big fan of comics (European and US) and I have a huge collection but unfortunatly, I was not able to cone in the USA with all of them so everything stay in France for the moment. Here I decided to focus on comics books. I must admit we are in a star wars period (re-watching the movies, finishing the last saison of clones wars, waiting for star wars rebels) so we acquiere several star wars comics recently. I have already some in France, all the volume for clones wars, Legacy, invasion and old republic. So here what we have now:

Star Wars: Dark Empire Trilogy (Dark Horse)

le pitch:
Six years after the fall of the Empire in Return of the Jedi, the battle for the galaxy's freedom rages on. The Empire has been mysteriously reborn under an unknown leader, wielding a new weapon of great power. Princess Leia and Han Solo struggle to hold together the New Republic while the galaxy's savior, Luke Skywalker, fights an inner battle as he is drawn to the dark side, just as his father

Mon avis:
D'une maniere generale, c'est plutot une bonne BD, agreable a lire bien que parfois un peu dur a dechiffrer a cause des dessins et des couleurs qui pourront en surprendre plus d'un surtout si l'on a pas l'habitude de ce type de dessin a l'ancienne. Cote histoire on retrouve tous nos personnages favoris de la premiere trilogie quelques annees en plus au compteur. L'histoire sans etre une des plus innovantes reserve tout de fois quelques surprises. Certainement pas un must have pour un lecteur de SF mais indispensable pour tout fan qui se respecte. Je vous renvoie a cette tres bonne critique faite sur le site BDgest qui resume (en mieux) ma pensee.

According to me it is a good comic, you will have a good time reading this book even if sometimes it can be hard with the special drawing and color used by the author. You will find all the characters from the first trilogy with several year older. The story is not the best and most new but still you will have some surprise. If you are a SF fan and are looking for a comic independently of star wars univers, don't buy it you will find better. If you a star wars fan, go ahead you have to have it.

Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ninth Assassin

Eight assassins hired to murder Darth Vader - eight assassins dead. Now the man who enlisted them has hired a ninth assassin, this one more deadly than all the others combined. At the same time, a different threat to the Galactic Empire has made itself known. Darth Vader will follow the threat to its source and encounter an ancient, evil people, with a dark prophecy and a powerful weapon. Mon avis:
Decut, ca se lis vite, tres tres vite, peu de texte, pas beaucoup d'histoire. Ok on a une histoire sur vador en entier, on passe un bon moment de lecture, les dessins son sympa, mais ca ne vaut pas le prix du livre. Totalement dispensable.
Disapointed, here the feeling I have at the end of this book. You will read it fast, really really fast and the story is minimal. Ok it is not htat bad and it still good to follow vader, you will have a good time reading the book with cool drawing but it is not worth the prize. Totally dispensable.

Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi

 

Le pitch:
Here begins the tale of the dawn of the Jedi, the Star Wars of 25,000 years ago - before lightsabers, before hyperspace travel, before the Jedi spread throughout the galaxy, when connections to the Force were new. On the planet Tython, a group of beings - scientists, philosophers, and warriors - strive to maintain peace and balance with the mystifying power known as the Force. But a stranger is coming, one who will disrupt the balance with his arrival and his own connection to the Force. Everything in their system is about to change...the doors to the galaxy have been opened!

Mon avis:
Tres bonne surprise que cette serie en trois volume (pour l'instant je n'ai que les deux premiers). Premierement cote dessin c'est pas mal du tout, dans la norme de ce qui se fait en se moment, rien de splendide mais agreable a regarder. Cote histoire on suit les debuts de l'order Jedi donc ne vous attendez pas a retrouver des personnages des films, tout se passe des milliers d'annees avant la bataille de Yavin. On s'attache tout particulierement au personnage du cote obscur. L'intrigue est bien mene et on a envie de connaitre la suite. Tres bonne mis en place de l'univers. Sans conteste une serie a avoir, meme si on est pas dans le trip star wars.

Really good surprise for this series of three volumes (only hace two for the moment). The drawing is good, comparable to what is done today. It is not the best drawing in the world but still good. For the story, we are following the beginning of the jedi order, so don't except to see people from the movies, the story is several thousand years before battle of Yavin. I really like the characters, particularly the one from the dark side. It is a must have serie, even if you re not a fan of star wars.

Star Wars Rebellion 

Having rescued Rebel strategist Jorin Sol from the Empire, Luke Skywalker now leads X-Wing attack runs on Imperial convoys to rustle up much needed supplies for the Rebel fleet. Little does he know that within Sol lies a secret that will put the entire Alliance in danger. What's worse, when Luke receives a coded message from Lt. Sunber, he must decide whether to trust his old friend or obey the orders of Princess Leia who believes Tank may be part of an Imperial plot to capture the Rebellion's greatest hero!

Mon avis: je les ai pas encore lu donc pas d'avis pour l'instant.
Still not reading these one so no opinion for the moment.
